W. J. Reynolds and Co. as well as Brown, Taggard and Chase published The Rollo Copy Books. These 8″ x 6.75″ pamphlets. There are 12 leafs with lines to practice handwriting.

The covers have illustrations from Rollo’s Tour in London. Two different covers have been seen and are shown below. It is not known whether other covers exist. Both books state that there are six Rollo books in the series. Probably these were published by both firms in the 1856 time frame.

These pamphlets are among the rarest Rollo items.

Crowell was the second and only other publisher of this four book series. It first published this four book boxed series in 1884. This firm continued to print this series until the mid-1890’s. Thereafter there is no evidence that any other company published the August Stories and August and Elvie appear to have just faded away.

Crowell published this four book series in two formats. The exact dates are unknown.
