1874 Publishers’ Weekly Advertisement
The Siegel-Cooper Company was a discount department store that sold books on its imprint between the early 1890’s and early 1900’s. This book has the same format as a pre-1902 Mershon Company publisher’s series format. These Rollo books are part of large publisher’s series. They are 6 x 4.5.

In 1884 Crowell first published this four book series. Two formats have been seen. Priority between them has not been established. The books sold for $1.25 each.

W. J. Reynolds and Co. as well as Brown, Taggard and Chase published The Rollo Copy Books. These 8″ x 6.75″ pamphlets. There are 12 leafs with lines to practice handwriting.
The covers have illustrations from Rollo’s Tour in London. Two different covers have been seen and are shown below. It is not known whether other covers exist. Both books state that there are six Rollo books in the series. Probably these were published by both firms in the 1856 time frame.
These pamphlets are among the rarest Rollo items.
